Toyota Celebrates Earth Day by Launching its New Array of Solar Panels at Mississippi Plant

On Earth Day this year Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi, the facility that manufactures Corolla models, celebrated in true fashion by launching its new 50 kilowatt array of solar panels. This makes the facility the fourth largest in the state, with the ability to produce enough energy that could power seven average households for one entire year. Toyota was recently busy celebrating another impressive accomplishment as well.

Toyota Assists with Hurricane Sandy Recovery by Donating 19 Vehicles

Although Hurricane Sandy happened several months ago, many areas are still working hard to recover from the destruction. In order to lend a helping hand, Toyota recently donated 19 vehicles totally over $100,000 to the Red Cross. These efforts are aiding areas in the Northeast that suffered from some of the worst damage. The vehicles are being used for relief transportation over the course of this year, and will then be handed off to other areas in need of extra assistance.
